Welcome to Edgemont Automotive! A family owned and operated business located at 5040 West Chester Pike in Edgemont township Pennsylvania. We have been servicing vehicles in Edgemont/Newtown Square as well as surrounding communities since 1985. Our staff, all of whom are from Delaware county as well as from right here in Edgemont, have been with the company a minimum of 5 years and as many as 30 years. We have been working together for long enough that we are a family away from our families.

Meet Our Staff

Lou Matteo Sr.

Hi, I'm Lou Matteo the owner of Edgemont Automotive. We started out as a two-bay gas station on the corner of route 3 and Providence Rd. back in 1985. We have now grown to a five plus bay facility at our current location.  I started out as a technician, I worked very hard to keep up with evolving automotive technology by reading industry publications and enrolling in every training class that could be found. To this day all of our technicians, myself included attend training seminars and classes on a regular basis. We use high quality state of the art equipment to diagnose and service our customers vehicles.

Rich Books

Rich doesn’t have just one title here at Edgemont Automotive. He has been with the company almost since its inception (1989). He is the face you see when you walk in and the voice you hear when you call us. Whether he is greeting our customers, picking up or dropping off people or their vehicles to changing tires on the side of the road or jump starting that dead battery. Rich has been a staple at Edgemont Auto and if you have spent any time in the Edgemont/Newtown Square vicinity, surely you have seen him once or a million times and is recognized by all of our customers.

Chris Taylor

Chris started with us part time in early 2014 while attending Automotive Training Center in Exton as a part time employee. It was clear Chris had a great understanding of all things mechanical and upon graduating in 2015 he became a full-time automotive technician and a key member of our team.

Louis Matteo Jr.

Louis is the newest member of our team. While in high school, Louis had attended collision repair, after graduating he found he was more comfortable making mechanical repairs.  He is now attending Automotive Training Center in Exton while working part time here. He may be the owner’s son but Louis is working hard for our customers to achieve a full-time position upon completion.

Edgemont Automotive has been serving customers, businesses and farms in Delaware and Chester counties since 1985. Located at 5040 West Chester Pike in Edgemont (adjacent to the Edgemont post office). We are a family owned and operated business that employs A.S.E. certified technicians that understand that customer satisfaction is our top priority. We are proud of the reputation we have built over the years of providing honest, quality repairs at reasonable rates in a timely manner.  We provide Vehicle Service and Maintenance for individuals and have packages for fleet managers as well.
